AIP Publishing’s new Author License strengthens the partnership between authors and publisher.
To address authors’ needs and future requirements, AIP Publishing is replacing its copyright agreement with a new Author License. Designed to be even more author-friendly, the new license features progressive policies that have more practical application in the digital world.
License to Publish Agreement
As of March 2016, AIP Publishing will no longer require authors to transfer their copyright but will instead have in place a License to Publish Agreement.
Characterized by its fair and rational approach, this exclusive license enables authors to retain their copyright and encourages them to post and share their accepted manuscript immediately on acceptance. At the same time it grants AIP Publishing the rights it needs to publish their work. This enhanced agreement helps simplify the publication process and clarifies the many rights researchers enjoy when choosing to publish with AIP Publishing.
The rights the authors retain in their work under the new agreement exceed what most funders, government agencies, and national policies require, making it easier for authors to remain compliant with any and all regulations related to open access mandates.
